How do I add AmTrav chat to my Microsoft Teams account?

Step-by-step instructions for adding the AmTrav chat channel to your Teams account (it's easy!)

The AmTrav Teams app is a registered and approved Microsoft Teams app that allows AmTrav admins, coordinators and travelers to contact AmTrav Travel Advisors for booking help in the same Teams workspace that they already use for their job. With the AmTrav Teams app users don’t have to open a new browser window to start an AmTrav chat -- now they can reach a Travel Advisor the same way they quickly and easily direct message colleagues in Teams.

 

How to add AmTrav to your Teams account

(Note: this works whether you're an AmTrav administrator, coordinator or traveler.)

 

Step 1: Add an app to your Teams app by either navigating to the AmTrav Teams page and clicking the "Get it Now" button towards the top of the page (you may need to sign in using your work Microsoft account and password). Note: you should be logged into Microsoft using your work email, which should be the same email address that you have registered with AmTrav -- that way AmTrav will recognize you by your email address when you chat us in Teams.

 

Step 2: Continue with the prompts from Microsoft, clicking the "Launch it now" button to launch the AmTrav app in the Teams app (or click "Use the web app instead" if you run Teams through your Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome or other web browser on your computer):

 

 

Step 3: Almost done. Teams will open either in the Teams app or in an internet browser with the AmTrav Business Travel app, click the "Add" button at the left or at the bottom to add AmTrav to your Teams app:

 

 

That's it! You're in Teams and can chat an AmTrav Travel Advisor -- they're ready to help! Look for the AmTrav icon on the lefthand side of your Teams window whenever you need to reach AmTrav.

 

 

Note: An active company AmTrav account is required to get service or book travel with an AmTrav Travel Advisor through Teams.

What’s the AmTrav Teams app?

How does AmTrav recognize users who chat AmTrav in Teams?

When a user chats AmTrav in Teams, AmTrav can see their registered Teams email address, automatically recognize them and associate them to your account, and quickly deliver personalized service based on their needs or existing bookings. (This is similar to how we recognize customer chats from a2b and emails.)

 

How much does the AmTrav Teams app cost?

Adding the AmTrav Teams app to your Teams Workspace costs you nothing. When users contact Travel Advisor for expert assistance normal assistance fees may apply, subject to your AmTrav account settings, same as they would if you contacted a Travel Advisor via phone, chat or email.

 

Can my whole team access AmTrav on Teams?

Yes! All of your administrators, coordinators and travelers can chat AmTrav Travel Advisors on Teams -- they're ready to help!

 

Can AmTrav message me on Teams?

No. Once you've added the AmTrav Teams app to your workspace and your account, an AmTrav Travel Advisors can reply to a conversation that you initiate in Teams, however the AmTrav Teams app cannot and will not initiate a Teams conversation with you (whether you've added the AmTrav Teams app to your workspace or your account). 

 

I love my AmTrav Relationship Manager, can I reach my Relationship Manager via Teams?

We love your AmTrav Relationship Manager too! You can reach AmTrav Travel Advisors via the AmTrav Teams app, sadly you cannot reach AmTrav Relationship Managers via the AmTrav Teams app. You can however email them!

 

What data is transmitted via the AmTrav Teams app?

The only data sent to AmTrav is the user’s email address (we use this to recognize the user and retrieve their account and bookings) and whatever the user types and sends to AmTrav -- that's it.
