AmTrav Change Trips is coming in September 2023, here's the latest news and functionality.
At AmTrav we compare ourselves to the airline, hotel and leisure websites that travelers love to use to book and change their personal trips -- we won't settle for just being better than the antiquated corporate tools that travelers loathe.
So adding online self-service trip change capabilities for travelers has been a big priority, and we're thrilled to launch Change Trips in September 2023 giving you the ability to change your whole trip -- air, hotel and car -- at once, however you need to, with your company's payment and travel policy applied and travel data updated. Questions you might have about AmTrav Change Trips and our new trip cancellation flow:
What just changed?
AmTrav just changed the trip cancellation software that you see, updating from an old "Cancel Itinerary" button and popup window to a new "Change or Cancel" button that leads to the Change or Cancel Trip page where you can cancel some or all of your itinerary -- and soon can change itinerary components (that's coming in September with the full Change Trips release). This is both a small deal and a big deal: it's not a huge change, you cancel part or all of your trip just as easily as before, but it's also the new flow for Change Trips and includes some back-end improvements that make AmTrav a bit more efficient.
After I change or cancel a trip, will I receive an email confirming the change?
Yes! We will quickly send you an email confirming your trip cancellation or updated itinerary.
After I cancel my trip, will my unused tickets be available for me to use on future travel?
Yes, AmTrav automatically stores any nonrefundable airline ticket credits, you can see these in your Unused Ticket Report, in your flight search page and the flight checkout page, ready to apply to save with just one click. (Subject to fare rules: Basic Economy tickets may not be eligible for reuse as unused tickets, and we'll try to refund any refundable fares for you.)
When I try to change my trip in the Change or Cancel window I get a box saying "We're sorry but for this booking the flight change can't be made online yet."
Yes, this is a stopgap measure until Change Trips is fully released in September. This box allows you to message an AmTrav Advisor with your change request, we'll then call or email back with any options and to make your changes. You can of course also reach us via phone, chat, text or email. In September this box will largely disappear, will only appear if your company requires approvals on all changes or if the change absolutely cannot be completed online.
Can I still reach an AmTrav Travel Advisor?
Absolutely! AmTrav's all-employee, all-U.S. based Travel Advisors are ready to help 24x7, you can reach them via phone, email, chat (including Slack and Teams) and text. Change Trips will not affect the availability of AmTrav Travel Advisors, if anything they'll be even better equipped using the same new trip change technology that Change Trips gives you.
What's the pricing for Change Trips?
Change Trips follows your current pricing for online trip changes or cancellations. If you're on AmTrav's per-trip, per-user or subscription pricing then great news, you can change or cancel your trip as many times as you like for no additional charge. If you're on a transaction fee model then the online change price will apply (talk with your designated Relationship Manager to determine this price).
Wait, when will Change Trips be fully launched?
AmTrav developers are working furiously on Change Trips, it'll be released in September, come hell or high water.
