A colleague shared some data with me today. It inspired me to share a story with you.
AmTrav is obsessed with driving your productivity. We aim to save you time, stress, and money on travel, allowing you to focus on the success of your team and your business on the road. Whether we’re negotiating discounts on your behalf, designing our booking and reporting tools for you, or having Travel Advisors ready to help when you need to change a trip, we are laser focused on your productivity.
Another way we drive your productivity is with our unused ticket tracking and one-click unused ticket redemption technology. Those unused tickets that your company paid for but you didn’t use -- trip got cancelled, trip got changed, whatever -- are gold when you’re able to track and reuse them, and we love helping you save money by using those credits.
(Short history lesson: what are unused tickets and why can’t you just get a refund? When airlines were deregulated in the 1970s and 1980s and airfares started falling, one condition airlines put on those cheaper tickets was that customers couldn’t voluntarily refund them. This non-refundability rule continues today. More than 90% of tickets sold are non-refundable, but travelers can apply the value of an unused ticket towards a new trip. That credit is the unused ticket.)
We told you about how we tracked and saved our clients tens of millions of dollars in unused tickets back in April, but I have some hard data to share on this effort today. At our peak in March we handled six times as many unused tickets as we did in March 2019, then nearly three times as many in April versus April 2019, on top of the tickets we convinced airlines to refund to you.
New AmTrav unused tickets by month, 2019 and 2020:
You can see this in your Unused Ticket Report (which we’ve upgraded to show the change penalty and expiration dates for each ticket) according to the waivers that airlines issued and updated during the COVID pandemic:
As your company returns to travel, your bookers can apply these valuable credits directly in the booking path with one click and no added fees, saving you money on future travel:
We know this is one area where we’ve risen to the top of the pack. When you use an online leisure travel agency or airline website, you have to track your own unused tickets. Other corporate sites might try to track your unused tickets, but they struggle to determine ticket validity and value because they run on fragmented platforms. And no other leisure, airline, or corporate sites have a one-click unused ticket application built directly into the booking path to make using an unused ticket as easy as booking a new ticket.
With AmTrav you can see your unused ticket value and expiration dates right in our one connected platform, easily and accurately. Travel bookers can save money with one click, applying any available unused ticket credit right there in the booking path. That’s AmTrav saving you time, stress, and money -- driving your productivity.
