Hawaii Launches Pre-Testing Program For Travelers

Written by Cassie Sclafani | October 15, 2020

Hawaii has started to open its borders, and if you travel there on business we have some advice to help you stay productive. Beginning today, travelers who complete a pre-travel Covid-19 test, and test negative, will not have to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive.

Before you arrive for your business trip, you (and any travel companions five years and older) must show proof of a negative result from a specific Covid test (the FDA-approved Covid Nucleic Acid Amplification Test, or NAAT, processed by a CLIA-certified laboratory to be exact). These are the only types of Covid tests accepted and approved by the state of Hawaii at the time of this post, so make sure you’re seeking the correct type of test and note that antibody and antigen tests will not be accepted. You must get tested within 72 hours from your slated arrival in Hawaii.

Once you complete the test, you’ll have a more productive and happy time on the islands.
